The Santa Rosa County School District receives a categorical funding from the state that is called Safe School Funds. It is through the use of these funds that the district provides the SRO Program. The School Resource Officer Program in all middle and high schools of the District is in partnership with the Santa Rosa Sheriff's Department and the Gulf Breeze Police Department. This program provides officers who work on-site at the schools to assist in providing a safer school environment. They also provide educational experiences through interaction in classes with students.
SOS - Save Our Schools
SOS is an initiative to enable students to report any suspicious, dangerous, or inappropriate behavior that is occurring on the school campus. Examples include behavior such as Bullying, Drugs, Fighting, etc. By reporting this type of behavior you are helping make your school a safer place. The SOS Life Preserver will allow students to send an anonymous report to school officials. When writing your message, please include as much information as possible, such as:
What behavior is occurring
Who is engaging in the behavior
Who is the victim of the behavior
When is it happening
Where is it happening
Are there witnesses to the behavior
Please use the SOS button to help stop bullying and other problems. Remember that SOS submissions are completely anonymous. If you don't provide enough information, we can't act.
